The Lebanese Civil War in the 70’s did not stop the young couple, FathiandMona Chatila, from treading uncharted territory. Noticing that the water industry was surging with potential, the Chatilas started nurturing a brain child. Arab Water World (AWW) magazine was born in 1977 cradled by a brand new company, Chatila Publishing House (CPH). The magazine quenched the thirst of experts and anybody immediately interested in water, wastewater, desalination, and energy.

As the road was paved for new periodicals addressing the ranging industries in the Middle East and North Africa, the Arab Construction World (ACW) magazine walked its first mile in 1983. In 1985, the Middle East Food (MEF) magazine was first published. It was the first specialized magazine dedicated to the food industry in the Middle East and North Africa. MEFaddresses the Food, Beverage, Ingredients, and Packaging sectors and is distributed to specialized companies working in these fields.

Mohammad Rabih Chatila, son of Fathi and Mona, joined the House in 1998 as an Assistant Editor & Researcher on a part-time basis. Meanwhile, he was continuing his studies in the American University of Beirut (AUB) to earn a degree in Architecture. After graduating in 2002, Mohamad Rabih was appointed General Manager of CPH, a position which he still occupies.

2008 was a milestone in the history of the company, when Architect Mohamad Rabih launched a new venture in an attempt to offer a wider range of services with a wider geographical coverage. The newly born company, CPH World Media s.a.r.l. remains true to Chatila Publishing House (CPH)’s philosophy but with a vision that is far more reaching in terms of media variety and services offered....
