First Arab Exhibition for Metal Industry and Steel Structures Held in Egypt

Egypt has hosted the most specialized event in Africa: Metal & Steel 2010, the largest trade show for Steel, metal working, metal manufacturing & steel fabrication industries, the B2B Steel exhibition for the Middle East. The Exhibition covered the area of 7600 Sqm at the most premier event venue in the region, Cairo International Conference Center (CICC).

The Middle East and Africa are experiencing very strong growth in steel demand, to meet the requirements of investments, as the Middle East produces 26.1 million tons of raw steel and consumes 45.5 million tons. Therefore, there is a massive imbalance between supply and demand, which means immense business opportunities for those investing in increasing production in the region’s steel sectors, and lead to a surge in demand for machinery, equipment and consumables needed by steel. Fabrication yards have been kept busy at full capacity, trying to meet a constantly increasing market demand for fabricated steel, making the region one of the fastest growing and lucrative markets for suppliers of the steel fabrication industry

Egypt the host of the Event is the third largest steel producer in the Middle East, and according to the World Investment Report 2007, published by UNCTAD; Egypt was ranked as the top African nation in terms of FDI flows. In Egypt inflows exceeded US$ 10 billion in 2006. So, all the world attention is now focused on Egypt as a promising market with a strong economy.

Arab Construction World (ACW) magazine was present at the event where bonus copies of its January and February issues were distributed to exhibitors and visitors.
